September News – Reminders

Lot’s of happenings for October – please review the reminders below:

  • September 30 – Orders due! If you would like to order mulch to benefit The Abbington Swim Team, please complete the order form HERE and return it with your check to Steve Bock at 103 Langshire Court. Deliveries will take place the weekend of October 3-5.
  • October 1 – RSVP’s due for the Pig Pickin’! Please be sure to tell Kevin McElroy if your family is attending… his info: 342-4080 or email. The food is delicious and it’s a great time to socialize with neighbors.
  • October 12 – The neighborhood Yard Sale will be held from 8am – 12pm. Participation is free to all residents and registration is recommended. See additional details on previous post or contact Leslie Brockman at 303-2195 or email.
  • October 13 – Registrations are due for the 3rd Annual Gator 5k and Crawl. Don’t miss the deadline to get your exclusive race T-shirt! Complete the registration form (found in your newsletter or print here: Gator 5k Reg Form) and return to Eileen Horn at 106 Erlwood.



September News – Update

Hello again! Some HOT news JUST IN:

  • The Abbington Fall Yard Sale will be held on October 12 from 8am – 12pm. Participation is free to all residents and registration is recommended. A local charity will have a truck at the pool starting at 11:30 to accept your unsold items for donation. You can also make arrangements for them to pick up larger furniture items – just stop by to coordinate details.

    We will post signs at both entrances and along main streets of the neighborhood, but sellers are asked to post their own signs to direct traffic to their house, especially those living on side streets/cul-de-sacs. Ads will be placed in the local paper as well as on Craigslist. For more info and to register, please contact Leslie Brockman at 303-2195 or
  • Need mulch? The Abbington Swim Team is conducting a Fall Mulch Fundraiser. Place your order by September 30 for delivery during the weekend of October 3-5. Details and order form on the flyer HERE. To order, please complete the form and return it with your check to Steve Bock at 103 Langshire Court.

September News

Here is the latest and greatest neighborhood news –

  1. The Fall edition of the neighborhood newsletter is published and out for delivery. Please check your mailbox/underneath slot for your copy and if you haven’t received it yet, your street captain will be delivering soon. You can also read it here: Newsletter Fall 2013.
  2. Event Alert: Y’all are invited to our Annual Neighborhood Pig Pickin’ on Saturday, October 26 at 2:00pm. This fun event is sponsored by the HOA and free for all residents. Food will be catered by Backyard Bistro and y’all need to bring your own beverage and chair. C’mon up to the pool parking lot to enjoy some BBQ and family fun. Watch for more details on the website and Nextdoor site.
  3. Event Alert #2: The 3rd Annual Gator 5k also takes place on Saturday, October 26. Starting at Noon, runners take their mark and wind their way through Abbington for a fun run to benefit the Swim Team. Those that prefer to go at a slower pace can join the Gator Crawl, a 1 mile walk that starts at 1pm. There are prizes, t-shirts, and a raffle for the VIP parking space. Registration forms are in the newsletter and here: Gator 5k Reg Form and more info will be posted online.
  4. Pool Closes Sunday, September 8. Head on up today and tomorrow for the last swim of the season.
  5. Calling all volunteers… help is needed to run the neighborhood Yard Sale in October. If you are interested in assisting with the event, please contact Leslie Brockman at 303-2195 or
  6. Reminder that the neighborhood eblast system is being discontinued at the end of this month. All future communication will be made here on the website blog.
