October News – Last Call & Safety Alert

 This is a final notice about events on Saturday and a safety alert for all residents.

  • The Gator 5k and 1 Mile Crawl takes place on Saturday 10/26 starting at noon! It’s not too late to join the fun and help your Gators… race day registration accepted.
  • REMINDER: during the race, streets are closed to all traffic from approximately 12noon-2pm. For details, read the flyer HERE and please plan your travel for the day accordingly.
  • Everyone is invited to the Neighborhood Pig Pickin’ at 2:00pm. Food is catered by Backyard Bistro and you need only to bring a beverage and chair. No need to RSVP… just come up and enjoy the ‘cue!
  • ALERT: Recently a black Audi A7 was seen speeding through the neighborhood. If you witness this car (or any other) violating the law, please report them to the police at their non-emergency number at 362-8661. ALL residents are reminded to please obey the posted speed limit of 25mph – and stop signs – while driving through our neighborhood.

Some NEW news and last minute reminders –

  • Meet The Candidates – Thursday, October 17 from 6:30-8:30pm

Residents are invited to attend an informal get-together to meet Nicole Dozier and Jen Ferrell, candidates for Apex Town Council. The event is being held at the home of Retta Riordan and Jack Clark (313 Chanticlair). Please RSVP by October 16 at Noon to 919-629-7207 or email

  • The Yard Sale is tomorrow –  October 12 (8am – 12pm). There’s still time to gather up a few items for sale! Or, if you’d prefer – donate any unused items to a local charity – just bring them to the pool starting at 11:30. You can also make arrangements for them to pick up larger furniture items – just stop by to coordinate details. For more info, please contact Leslie Brockman at 303-2195 or email.

Please remember to use extra care while driving through the neighborhood – there will be lot’s of cars and people.

  • A notice about street closings for the race was distributed to ALL RESIDENTS. Please check your mailbox/underneath slot for the flyer or read HERE. Thank you for helping to keep our runners safe.

Lot’s of happenings this month… please read and pass it on:

  • The neighborhood Yard Sale will be held on October 12 from 8am – 12pm. Participation is free to all residents and registration is recommended. A local charity will have a truck at the pool starting at 11:30 to accept your unsold items for donation. You can also make arrangements for them to pick up larger furniture items – just stop by to coordinate details.

We will post signs at both entrances and along main streets of the neighborhood, but sellers are asked to post their own signs to direct traffic to their house, especially those living on side streets/cul-de-sacs. Ads will be placed in the local paper as well as on Craigslist. For more info and to register, please contact Leslie Brockman at 303-2195 or email.

  • The 3rd Annual Gator 5k and 1 Mile Gator Crawl will take place on Saturday, October 26. Register NOW until October 13 and get your exclusive race T-shirt! Print the Gator 5k Reg Form and submit to Eileen Horn at 106 Erlwood Ct.
  • A notice about street closings for the race is being distributed to ALL RESIDENTS. Please check your mailbox/underneath slot for the flyer or read HERE. The race committee appreciates your cooperation in helping to keep our runners safe.
  • C’mon up to our annual Neighborhood Pig Pickin’ on Saturday, October 26 at 2:00pm – immediately following the race. This fun event is sponsored by the HOA and free for all residents. Food will be catered by Backyard Bistro and you need only to bring a beverage and chair. Please RSVP to Kevin McElroy.
