March News

Just a couple updates for March:

  • The Spring 2013 edition of the Abbington Newsletter has been published and is out for distribution. Please make sure to check your mail slot! You can also click below to access the online version.  spring2013
  • Reminder to all residents that the Annual HOA Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30pm. The location is our usual place – the Apex Community Center at 53 Hunter Street. All residents are encouraged to come out and vote to fill 3 board positions.
  • As follow up to last week’s meeting held by the Apex Planning Department, Abbington residents found out that the area surrounding our neighborhood is designated as a location for ‘integrated mixed-use residential, office, commercial and institutional development.’ This type of development is likely to be ground level stores and offices with condos or apartments over top (similar to Grace Park in Morrisville.) NCDOT plans call for a new interchange at US 64 and Jenks/Richardson Road to provide additional access to western Apex and potentially connect to Bryant Pond Lane. The next Open House is set for May 9 and additional information can be found HERE.

Board Positions OPEN

In March, three positions on the HOA Board of Directors are up for re-election. Two members – Dan Heimann and Sue Davis – have both served 2 terms and will not be renewing. Elections to fill their seat on the board will be held at the Annual HOA Meeting in March. A term is 2 years and anyone who is interested in becoming a member should notify Cathy Lemly at PPM to have their name added to the ballot.
